Baptism

The word “baptizo” in the Bible means to dip repeatedly, to immerse or submerge or to make clean by water.
The baptism or quickly immersing or dipping a believer in Jesus Christ in water comes from the Jewish tradition of a Mikvah or ceremonial purification or washing.
Baptism is confirming of our belief in the Son of God, Jesus Christ. It is also an identification with Jesus’s death, burial and resurrection, and then becoming his disciple or a member of the Church. Lastly the washing in water serves as a ceremonial representation of the washing away of our sins through the blood shed by Jesus Christ on the cross!
The Baptism will be performed at the church in a safe, clean environment in a heated, baptismal tank (pool/tub) of water. The participants will be fully clothed and wear a baptismal robe over their garments.

Who is Jesus?

He is known as both the Son of Man and the Son of God which made him from this perspective both fully God and fully man!
His name Jesus or Yeshua literally means God has become my salvation or God saves. He was prophesied or predicted to be Emmanuel or God with us in the Dead Sea Scrolls from the book of Isaiah hundreds of years before his birth. He was born of Mary by the Holy Spirit as it was again prophesied or predicted that a virgin would conceive and bring forth a son. (Christmas)
They named him Jesus because he should save his people from their sins. By his death upon crucifixion or dying on a cross, he served as an innocent sacrifice (his blood being shed) for our sins for eternity. Before this, it was the Jewish tradition that sins could only be passed or forgiven from year to year and not be taken away. In this respect, Jesus was the Lamb of God or sacrificial lamb that took away the sin of the World.
After three days in the grave, (the sign of Jonah), by the power of God he rose from the dead (Easter) and walked the Earth for 40 days and then ascended into heaven to sit on the right hand of power of God. (Having the authority of God)
The Gospel (his story of Good News) proclaims that he will return to Earth some  day bringing those both living and dead into a new kingdom to live eternally in Paradise.    This is the hope we have in Jesus Christ!
John 3:16   New International Version – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
